How do I use CustomsLimit?
Select your destination country from the Check tab, add the items you plan to bring, and review whether each item is allowed, restricted, or prohibited. Save your trip to keep a record of your packing plan.
What is the difference between limits and restrictions?
A limit is the maximum amount you can bring duty-free. A restriction means an item is only allowed under certain conditions, such as limited quantities or a special permit. A prohibited item cannot be brought in at all.
How do customs limits work?
Customs limits are the maximum amounts of goods you can bring into a country without paying duty or taxes. Limits vary by country, category, and sometimes residency or traveler status.
Items and categories
What you can carry and what rules apply to specific item types.
Can I bring food, medicines, electronics, or cash?
- Food rules can be strict for health, biosecurity, or religious reasons.
- Medications usually need original packaging and may require a prescription. Controlled substances and some herbal medicines may be restricted or prohibited.
- Personal electronics are generally allowed, but resale quantities can trigger duties.
- Large cash amounts usually need to be declared. Typical thresholds are around 10,000 USD or equivalent, but the exact limit depends on your destination.
Can I bring medications and vitamins?
Many destinations allow personal medications in original packaging with a prescription, but controlled substances, antibiotics, and some herbal medicines may be restricted or prohibited. Check the app result for your specific destination before travel.
What about cash declarations?
Large amounts of cash often need to be declared at the border. Typical thresholds are around 10,000 USD or equivalent, but the exact limit depends on your destination. The app shows the declaration threshold for each supported country.

What does "restricted item" mean?
A restricted item can enter a country only under specific conditions — such as limited quantities, special permits, or a specific purpose. This is different from a prohibited item, which cannot be imported at all.
What happens if I exceed the limit?
You may be required to pay duty and import fees. In some cases, items can be confiscated or returned. CustomsLimit is designed to help you catch those issues before travel — always verify with official customs authorities before you go.
