Know before you go

Surprising restriction for the Philippines

Fresh meat, fish, fruits, and vegetables require prior clearance from the Bureau of Plant Industry or the Bureau of Animal Industry before arrival — most are effectively prohibited without paperwork. Vaping products may require FDA or DOH clearance. The alcohol allowance covers all types combined (maximum 2 bottles, 1.5 litres total) and also has a PHP value cap.

About Philippines customs

The Philippines' customs rules are administered by the Bureau of Customs (BOC). Traveler allowances and restrictions can vary based on where you are arriving from, your residency status, and the type of goods you carry. Returning residents and OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) may qualify for higher duty-free thresholds.

Traveler rules can change based on route, age, item type, and whether goods are for personal use. CustomsLimit helps you check the full country guide for the Philippines before travel.
