Surprising restriction for Thailand

Thailand enforces the world's strictest narcotics laws. Penalties include long-term imprisonment, very large fines and death penalty in aggravated trafficking cases. Heroin, cocaine, amphetamines, MDMA and other narcotics are strictly prohibited. Schedule I narcotics and psychotropics are banned even for medical personal use. Prescription narcotic medicines require FDA permission before travel.

Taking Thai baht out of Thailand: generally max THB 50,000 without Bank of Thailand approval; max THB 2,000,000 to Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia or Yunnan province of China.
