Do I need to declare cash when entering Thailand?
Foreign currency of USD 20,000 or more (or equivalent in any foreign currency) must be declared to a Customs Officer upon arrival and upon departure. Thai Baht: up to THB 50,000 per person (THB 100,000 per family) may be brought into Thailand without declaration. Exporting Thai Baht of THB 450,000 or more requires a mandatory declaration. Travellers to neighbouring countries may take up to THB 500,000. Failure to declare: confiscation and penalties.
