Do I need to declare cash when entering South Korea?
USD 10,000 or more (in foreign currency, Korean won, or cashier's cheques): mandatory declaration. Complete Section 3 of the Traveller Declaration Form and obtain a Certificate of Foreign Currency Declaration. This certificate cannot be issued after passing immigration — it must be completed at the customs inspection area before immigration. Failure to declare: up to 1 year imprisonment or a fine of up to KRW 100,000,000 (or triple the violation value if higher).
